Parents need to know that this fourth installment in Disney's internationally beloved Pirates of the Caribbean franchise follows Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) on yet another high-seas adventure. With Elizabeth and Will's love story wrapped up in At World's End, this installment follows Jack and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) as they hurry to find the legendary Fountain of Youth before their rival, Bluebeard (Ian McShane), and a mysterious female pirate (Penelope Cruz) do. There's also a new pair of young, star-crossed lovers: a missionary (Sam Claflin) and a mermaid (Astrid Bergès-Frisbey). Based on the first three films, parents should expect a good bit of violence and creepy-looking characters, some obvious references to alcohol, and romance between Depp and Cruz, as well as the young leads.
